While Solano rent control won’t apply to every rental property in Vallejo, Fairfield, Suisn and Vacaville, many will get it. Statewide around 8 million Californians will get it.
But single-family homes in Solano County rented by smaller real estate landlords may not get Solano rent control. Construction built in Solano within the last 15 years is also without these rent caps.
Solano rent control should start January 1st, 2020. The writer doesn’t believe the 10 year sunset law will take effect. They guess California will increase tenant protections. Once it gets started Solano tenants throughout Vallejo,Fairfield, Suisun and Vacaville and nearby cities will naturally want more rent control.
