Fairfield mayor Harry Price will help lead the 40th year celebrations.
Fairfield and Nirasaki, Japan, celebrate their 40th year sister city relationship in 2011. Fairfield students have been traveling to and from Fairfield, California to Nirasaki, Japan for 23 years. The Nirasaki - Fairfield sister city coordinator Arletta Cortright's daughter is one of many who love Nirasaki, Japan.
Steven Kays, Founder of FixFairfield.Org and Innovation Institute worked in Tokyo. Kays' father worked for USIA (US Information Agency) at the US Embassy in Tokyo.
